McNeese Women's Golf places 12th at Cincinnati Bearcat Classic

McNeese State’s women’s golf team finished in 12th place following a final round 331 here Sunday at the Cincinnati Bearcat Spring Classic. The Cowgirls will be back in action in two weeks at the Southland Conference Tournament set for April 11-13 in McKinney, Texas.

McNeese posted rounds of 331-320-331 for a 982. Cincinnati ran away the team title with a 929, 16 shots ahead of second place Akron. Jacksonville finished third with a 947 followed by Georgia Southern (951) and Nova Southeastern rounds out the Top 5 in fifth place with a 952. Seminole State placed sixth (953) followed by Morehead State (956), Marshall (961). Florida Southern and Grand Canyon tied for ninth place at 969. Dartmouth placed 11th (978) ahead of the Cowgirls. Oklahoma City University and Quinnipiac tied for 13th place (986). Albany finished in 15th place (1000) followed by High Point (1007), and Hofstra (1064).

Kaitlin Fox was the top McNeese finisher, tying for 18th place with a 237. Fox shot a third round 77, her best round of the tournament. Kennedy Bodfield tied for 60th place with a 248, Sofie Winther tied for 63rd place with a 249, Meiyi Pan tied for 66th place (251), and Maiken Bing Paulsen tied for 87th place (262).

Ashlynn Novak also tied for 66th place with a 251. Novak played as an individual.
