McNeese State's Erika Piancastelli named SLC softball hitter of the week for third straight week

For the third straight week, McNeese State’s Erika Piancastelli has been named the Southland Conference softball hitter of the week presented by UniversalCoin.com as announced by the league office Monday.

Piancastelli, a sophomore from Carlsbad, California helped the Cowgirls remain undefeated at 9-0 in conference play last week with a series sweep over Houston Baptist.

Piancastelli ended the series with a .500 average, a 1.750 slugging percent and a .667 on base percent. She collected at least one hit in each of the three games against HBU and three of her four hits were homeruns including back-to-back home runs in the final game of the series. She also had two double, 5 RBI, 4 walks and scored six runs without striking out.
