McNeese cross country will host the 10th Annual ASICS McNeese Cowboy Stampede on Saturday morning beginning with the women's college 5,000-meter race at 8:30.

The event this year will be held at Chennault Airpark and will feature 51 university, high school and middle school teams.

Joining McNeese in the college races will be Southland Conference foes Northwestern State, Southeastern Louisiana, and Nicholls, along with Louisiana-Lafayette, Grambling, Southern, Loyola-New Orleans, and Texas Southern.

Live results can be tracked online at www.adkinstrak.com.

The college men will run a 4-mile race beginning at 9:15 followed by the high school varsity girls' 5k at 9:45, boys' 5k at 10:15, junior varsity and middle school girls' 2-mile at 1:45, and the boys at 11:15.

Both McNeese teams are ranked in this week's USTFCCCA South Central Region Top 15 – the Cowboys at No. 9 while the Cowgirls broke into the ranking for the first time this week at No. 13.

The two squads are coming off respectable showings at the Texas A&M Invitational last week that saw the Cowboys finish ninth and the Cowgirls 10th.

Leading the men's squad into Saturday race will be junior Oliver James and senior Enock Bor. James had to bow out of last week's race due to an ankle injury while Bor went on to finish as the team's top runner with a time of 24:34.9 and a 31st place individual finish in the 8,000-meter race.

Enrique Soto followed with a time of 24:53.4, Nathan Jones at 25:00.1, Fisher Hamilton at 25:0-6.2, Luke Betts with a 25:19.2, and Bradley Traviss at 25:22.2.

On the women's side, Gemma Bridge was the top Cowgirl finisher in the 6k race with at time of 21:09.0 to finish 18th. Katja Woelfl was close behind at 21:24.5 to finish 25th. Rhian Dawes ran the race in 22:52.9 followed by Leonie Weber at 23:06.4, and Emily Mouton at 24:18.9.
