McNeese (3-4, 0-1 SLC) opened its league slate with a 1-0 loss to Southeastern Louisiana last Friday before taking a rest on Sunday in order to prepare for the long road trip over the weekend. The Cowgirls staved off a red hot Lady Lions squad that ranked fourth in the nation in scoring offense, by holding the opposition to only one goal in the match. McNeese joined Florida State as the only two programs to hold Southeastern Louisiana to one goal or less this season.

The Cowgirls now head back on the road where they sport a better winning percentage than at home. McNeese, who has just one victory at Cowgirl Field so far this season, has two victories away from Lake Charles this season, scoring a pair of upsets at ULM and Texas State, who combine for 9-4-2 record at their respective home fields.

Central Arkansas (3-6, 0-1 SLC) dropped their opening conference match to Sam Houston State in overtime last weekend as the Bearkats squeaked out a 2-1 victory. The Sugar Bears boast an impressive 3-1 mark at Bill Stephens Complex, the site of the 2015 SLC Soccer Tournament.

Shelby Wilson leads the scoring effort for UCA, posting nine points (four goals, one assist) while eight other Sugar Bears have contributed at least one point this year. Anna Hughes has played a majority of the minutes between the posts with 36 saves on 90 shots faced.

McNeese leads the all-time series against Central Arkansas, 5-4, and has split the last two meetings. The Cowgirls defeated UCA, 4-3, last season in Lake Charles. The last McNeese victory in Conway occurred in 2008.

Following Friday night's match, McNeese will make its way back to Louisiana for a Sunday afternoon battle against in-state rival Northwestern State in Natchitoches at 1 p.m.
