McNeese's Emily Vincent Named Louisiana Pitcher of the Week

McNeese State’s Emily Vincent was named the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) pitcher of the week, the organization announced on Tuesday.

A day after being named the Southland Conference pitcher of the week after picking up two complete game shutouts over Nicholls, Vincent picked up her second honor of the week and first Louisiana weekly honor for McNeese this season.

The Sulphur native, went 2-0 last week that helped the Cowgirls clinch the conference series over the Colonels. She picked up 11 strikeouts, gave up nine hits, one walk in 14 innings in the circle. Vincent held the league’s top offense to a .176 batting average.
