Staff Reports
The Contraband

It’s time for the dirtiest party in town! Nissan of Lake Charles and Lake Charles Memorial Hospital are showcasing their support for health and wellness within our community by sponsoring the Lake Area’s 5th Annual Realliety Challenge obstacle course/mud run.

The event will be held Saturday, April 16 at Chennault International Airport, located at 3650 Senator J. Bennett Johnson Ave in Lake Charles, La. Participants ages 13 and up will be faced with approximately 3.5 miles of obstacles created to parallel military training conditions which include running, crawling, climbing, jumping and balancing. Our United States warriors know that it takes determination, courage and the right attitude to face life’s challenges. Do not miss your chance to be a warrior for a day, to run with a warrior or to run for a warrior!

Gates open at 7 a.m. and the first wave of runners starts at 8 a.m. Waves will run every 15 minutes. Test your mental and physical fortitude by running with Team Marine in the 10 a.m. wave. The last timed wave is at 11 a.m. and the last un-timed wave is at 11:30 a.m. Representatives from the U.S. National Guard will be on-site with a blow-up obstacle course for children 12 and under. There will also be a free mini-mud-course for children 12 and under.

Pre-registration closes April 10. On-site registration is available for $75. Corporate Team Packages are available for a discounted rate of $1250 for 25 passes. Participants can register online at www.reallietychallenge.com.

Proceeds benefit The Mission Continues, a non-profit dedicated to helping our servicemen and women reintegrate into civilian life upon their return from duty.
