Proposed expenditures in total has gone down, though the fall 2014 budget has yet to be finalized, according to Phillip Partin, SGA Treasurer.

Partin reported to the student House of Organizations Wednesday that an estimated $32,230 has rolled over into the fall budget from spring 2014.  That, coupled with an estimated $20,661 reduction in expenditures means that in total estimated expenditures for fall and spring 2014 hover around $55,870, including a $620 increase in payroll expenses to allow for 10 extra hours for the SGA secretary.

In other SGA news:
- Kedrick Nicholas, Director of the Student Union Board, announced that tailgating for football games has been moved to Cowboy Corral Lot A, also known as ‘The Alley.’

It’s a nice amount of space, just not as wide as it was back in Lot E,” Nicholas said.

Free T-shirts with ‘The Alley’ will be handed out at future SGA meetings and other on campus events, including the student tailgate.  A $50 deposit must be put down for an organization to reserve a spot.  If the organization doesn’t show up, a $50 cancellation fee will be charged.

- New rules are coming into effect for SGA senators, representatives and members.  According to Speaker of the House Zach Webb, no alternate or proxy senators or representatives will be allowed.
The reason for this change was an “inconsistency with our legislature,” Webb said.

Webb appointed John Hensley for Legislative Clerk and Simon Clause for Parliamentarian, but lost his Sergeant at Arms in the Pro Tempore election. Two third-year SGA members Kalyn Scott and Trae Block were nominated. Kalyn Scott is leader in S.U.B. and served on the Banquet committee.

Block, however, had a little more experience being on the Rules Committee for two years and a chairman for one. Also, he has experience using Robert’s Rules of Order to lead his Phi Kappa Alpha meetings in the same fashion as SGA. Block was the clear winner, making Webb in search of a new Sergeant at Arms.
