Miracle Prudhomme
ColumnistI will be the first to admit that I'm an extremely opinionated person.
I love to debate about hot-button issues to the point where I can become quite obnoxious. No one likes to be proven wrong, but you know those people who will argue you down until you either implode or see their so-called "light"?
I'm one of them, and chances are you are too.
In the interest of not being seen as a total asshole (for lack of better word), I've learned how to better navigate the landmine that can be... conversation.
One of the first questions I like to ask people I meet is what kind of music they like. Right there, that is a red flag. According to multiple sources, upon hearing someone's response, I get a little smirk on my face, emblematic of the judgment I'm ready to pass down if I don't approve of their tastes.
Who do I think I am? Am I an all-knowing being that has the right to crap on the way other people live their lives?

No? Moving on then.
Another thing I do (that I shouldn't) is when some has a opinion that I see as appallingly wrong, I will sit them down and make every point I possibly can to make them see how wrong they are.
Everyone has different ideas of right and wrong; everyone's moral compass points in a different direction. Wouldn't it be great if I just accepted that it's possible that not every single one of the other humans on the planet won't agree with me? Wouldn't it be great if other combative people like me accepted that too?

Personally, I believe so. Will that happen?
Moving on then...
