The Contraband
The Chennault International Airshow is in the final stages in preparing to welcome the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, as well as numerous other high-flying acts, to Lake Charles on Oct. 24-25, 2015, at Chennault International Airport.
Local nonprofit organizations are invited to sign up for the Airshow concessions area and receive a donation to their organization for their time. Nearly 200 volunteers are needed for this area.
“Our organization had so much fun working at the 2013 Airshow, and we’re looking forward to making this year’s event another success,” said Jody Barrilleaux of the Sulphur Sunrise Rotary Club.
Groups of 3 to 45 workers are needed to work both Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and concession workers should be 18 years of age or older. Workers are required to work both days.
Interested organizations should send a representative to a meeting on Monday, Sept. 28, at 6:00 p.m. at Chennault International Airport to learn details about the duties the organizations will perform. An RSVP is required. Contact Marvona Welsh, Airshow Volunteer Coordinator, at 812-240-2560 to RSVP.
Organizations can also sign up online by filling out the group volunteer sign up for at www.chennaultairshow.com.
