Lake Area Medical Center to host FREE Community Diabetes Fair

Lake Area Medical Center (LAMC) will host a FREE Community Diabetes Fair onSaturday, April 2nd from 9:00am to Noon, in the Day Surgery Lobby of Lake Area Medical Center, located at 4200 Nelson Road in Lake Charles.

LAMC’s Diabetes Fair is an educational event for individuals who have been diagnosed with diabetes, or those who may be at risk of developing it. Experts will be on hand to provide information and education on proper diabetes management and healthy lifestyle living. Vendor exhibits and various screenings will be offered as well as breakout sessions hosted by local physicians. (Fasting NOT required).

Lake Area Medical Center’s Diabetes Self-Management Education program is accredited through the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE). Fair attendees can expect to gain a better understanding of the AADE’s 7 self-care behaviors; and learn how each implemented behavior can empower them to successfully self-manage their disease and related conditions.

7) Taking Medications
