The McNeese women’s golf team will look to improve on its season opening 11th place finish at the Florida Gulf Coast Tournament when the Cowgirls travel to Arizona to take part in the Grand Canyon Spring Invitational beginning Monday.
The tournament will consist of 54 holes with 18 played each day. Joining McNeese in the 14-team field will be host Grand Canyon, Fairleigh Dickinson, Montana State, Nebraska-Omaha, North Dakota State, Northern Colorado, Portland State, Siena College South Dakota, South Dakota State, Texas Rio Grande Valley, and Wyoming. Live scoring will be available through Golfstat.
McNeese’s team will be made up of four of the same players that opened the season at the Florida Gulf Coast Invitational two weeks ago. Kaitlin Fox, Kennedy Bodfield, Maiken Bing Paulsen, and Sofie Winther return to the lineup while Alexandra Graf will be playing in her first tournament this spring.
Fox is coming off a 24th place finish at the Florida Gulf Coast Tournament and enters this tournament with a 76.6 average. Bodfield tied for 44th at the FGC Tournament. She is second on the team with a 79.0 average. Maiken Bing Paulsen and Winthers both have an 80 average. Graf had an 81.2 average in the fall in two tournaments played.
