The Contraband
The McNeese State University Performing Arts Department will host a free recital
featuring McNeese alumna Alli Partin Villines at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, in Tritico Theatre to
kick off the spring Faculty/Guest Recital Series hosted by the department.
Villines has traveled and worked as a singer, actor, puppeteer and ukuleleist all over the
country. Her recital program will feature monolgues as well as vocal selections and playing her
ukulele. She will be accompanied on piano by Lucy Hargis, a Houston, Texas, native.

Villines, who lives in Houston, received her Bachelor of Music degree in musical theatre from McNeese in 2006 and her Master of Music degree in musical theatre from Arizona State
University in 2015.
Some of her credits include: “One Man, Two Guvnors” (Christine) and “Mary Poppins”
(ensemble), Phoenix Theatre; “Reefer Madness” (co-choreographer) and “Hollywood/Ukraine”
(director/choreographer), “Smile” (Robin) and “Nation,” (Grandmother), ASU; “Annie Get Your
Gun” (ensemble), “A Chorus Line” (Maggie), “Adding Machine: A Musical” (Mrs. One),
“Carousel” (ensemble) and “I Love You Because” (NYC Woman), in Virginia; three years with
Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Va.; the Emmy award-winning educational film “A Global
Economy,” as the voice and puppeteer of “Gnarly,” and a Marvin Hamlisch tribute concert with
the Phoenix Symphony.
